Located around twenty minutes from Brest, this lighthouse is popular with walkers because of the beautiful view it offers of the entrance to the harbour.

Commissioned in 1848, it is now automated.

Trézien lighthouse

Built in the 19^th century, the light from this lighthouse can be seen up to 32 km away from the coast!

With 182 steps and a height of 37 metres, this lighthouse offers a lovely panoramic view of the surrounding area, particularly on the landward side.

How can I visit the Trézien lighthouse?

• The lighthouse is open from April to early November
• Prices: €5 full price, €2.5 for children
• Opening times: open every day from 10.30am to 1pm and from 2pm to 6pm in July and August. Open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10.30am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5.30pm the rest of the year.

Saint-Mathieu lighthouse

The Saint-Mathieu lighthouse is one of the most famous in the region, standing amid the ruins of an ancient abbey.
Listed as a historic monument, you can reach the top of the lighthouse after climbing the 163 steps of this granite tower.

The Île Vierge lighthouse

Built on the island of the same name, the Île Vierge lighthouse is a listed monument, standing 82.5 metres high - the highest in Europe!

If you're really motivated, you can climb the 383 steps before reaching the walkway and admiring the splendid view between land and sea.
