Ménez-hom Festival: a varied program for a festive immersion in Breton culture
For two weeks, the town of Plomodiern vibrates to the rhythm of traditions. Here's a glimpse of the highlights not to be missed:
- From August 1st to 12th: Discover the 39th painting and sculpture exhibition at the town hall. 35 painters and 9 sculptors will exhibit their works, with renowned pastel artist José Daoudal as guest of honor.
- Sunday, August 10: Participate in or admire the "Plom'haut en couleurs" painting competition, a creative challenge centered around the landscapes of Plomodiern, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Monday, August 11: Enter the world of heritage with an embroidery day, followed at 8:30 p.m. by an introduction to Breton dance open to all.
- Tuesday, August 12: Fun activities featuring traditional instruments from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Wednesday, August 13: Introduction to the Breton language from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a free Fest-Noz from 8:30 p.m. on Place Saint-Yves, with music, dancing, and a guaranteed lively atmosphere until 1 a.m.
- Thursday, August 15: Starting at 11 a.m., a grand costume parade will take place in the town with 500 costumes and ten groups from all over Brittany. Lunch will be served in the town hall gardens, followed by a folk show in the afternoon on Place Saint-Yves.
