The Minou spot in Plouzané

This is the closest spot to Brest, where locals come to surf after work. Located at Pointe du Minou, this beach takes its name from the lighthouse overlooking the coast.
An ideal spot for longboarding at low tide, with hollower and more powerful waves.
Two possible launch points:
  • To the east of the lighthouse: reserved for experienced surfers.
  • To the west: more accessible and popular with surf schools.
Beware of currents and rip currents that can form, especially at high tide.

The Blancs Sablons spot in Le Conquet

Surf the waves with a breathtaking view of Ouessant and Molène.
This large 2 km beach allows you to surf at any time of the tide, although the best waves appear at low tide or mid-tide.

Tip: in case of swell to the north, conditions can be more difficult due to the presence of offshore islands.
Check the weather before leaving and avoid the north of the beach, where the rocks can be dangerous.

The Penfoul spot in Landunvez

Located to the north of Porspoder, Penfoul is a beach surrounded by cliffs, ideal for surfing all year round.
  • In summer, the waves are often calmer and suitable for paddle boarding.
  • In autumn and winter, the northwest swell transforms the spot into a real playground for seasoned surfers.
  • Works at all tides, with optimal conditions in east/southeast winds.

The Palue spot in Crozon

A little further from Brest (allow 1 hour by car), but a must for surfing enthusiasts. La Palue, on the Crozon peninsula, is a spot renowned for its power.
  • Tubular waves perfect for experienced surfers.
  • Swimming prohibited due to strong currents.
  • Best sessions at low tide or mid-tide, but watch out for the peaks that move depending on the conditions.

The Boutrouilles spot in Kerlouan

A spot accessible to all levels, with a large sandy beach offering waves suitable for surfing, longboarding and bodyboarding.
  • Wide practice window: surfing from mid-rising tide to mid-falling tide.
  • Perfect for paddleboarding at low tide, where you can navigate between the rocks in complete peace.
